AI visibility for financial services
Financial Services Marketing Agency
People now ask AI engines which account to open, which adviser to trust and which insurer to choose. We track those answers prompt by prompt, correct the facts and sources behind them, and nothing goes live until your compliance team has approved it.
Money questions used to start on comparison sites and personal finance blogs. Now many start with an AI engine: which easy access savings account pays the most, which financial adviser in Edinburgh handles pension transfers, which insurer is best for a young driver. The answer names a few providers and says briefly why.
For a financial firm, that answer is both an opportunity and a risk. Being left out means losing customers at the moment they decide. Being included with an old rate, a withdrawn product or the wrong regulatory status can be worse. The Rank Master is an AI visibility agency that works prompt by prompt to get financial firms named, and named accurately, with your compliance team approving everything we publish.
What people ask AI about money
Financial prompts name an amount, an age, a situation or a provider. A typical prompt map includes:
- “best easy access savings account in the UK with no withdrawal limits”
- “independent financial adviser in Edinburgh for pension transfers who charges a fixed fee”
- “cheapest car insurance for a 19-year-old in Texas”
- “best business bank account for a freelancer with clients abroad”
- “Wise vs Revolut for sending money to India”
- “fiduciary financial planner near Denver for retirement income”
- “is [lender name] legit for a debt consolidation loan”
- “life insurance for a smoker with type 2 diabetes”
Trust questions matter too. “Is this firm regulated?” is a prompt in its own right, and its answers draw on different sources from “best savings account”.
The sources behind financial answers
Answers about money often draw on:
- Personal finance publishers. NerdWallet, Investopedia and Forbes Advisor in the US, and MoneySavingExpert in the UK, with their best-of tables, explainers and product reviews.
- Adviser directories. unbiased.co.uk and VouchedFor, where UK advisers list their services, qualifications and client reviews.
- Review platforms. Trustpilot and app store reviews, often used to describe service and reliability.
- Comparison sites. Product tables for insurance, loans, mortgages and savings, often with rates attached.
- Regulator registers. The FCA's Financial Services Register in the UK and FINRA BrokerCheck in the US, which confirm who is authorised to do what.
- Your own pages. Product pages, rates, fees, eligibility rules, key facts documents and terms.
Why financial firms get left out or misquoted
Figures change faster than sources update. Rates and fees move, third-party tables lag, and an engine that reads an old table repeats an old number.
Key terms locked in PDFs and calculators. Fee schedules, policy wording and eligibility rules often sit in documents or JavaScript tools, so engines see only part of the picture.
Regulatory status that engines cannot match. A trading name that differs from the legal entity, or a firm reference number missing from the site, makes it harder to connect a brand to its register entry. The FCA warns that clone firms copy genuine firms' names and details, so clarity here protects customers too.
Aggregators own the category. When your product appears mainly in comparison tables, engines describe it in those sites' terms and in their order.
Adviser profiles that say little. Advisers with thin directory profiles, few reviews and no stated focus are hard for an engine to recommend for a specific need.
How we help financial firms get named and quoted correctly
What an engagement looks like
We work product line by product line: the accounts, policies, loans or advice services you want named, and the trust questions people ask about you. We record what all seven engines say and quote today, then correct your own pages and the sources behind those answers, with your compliance or financial promotions team approving everything before it is published. Plans start at $2,000 a month, with custom engagements from $1,500 a month for a single product line or market; see pricing.
What we deliver
- A prompt map by product, customer situation and market. Best-of, comparison, eligibility and “is this firm regulated” prompts, written in the amounts, ages and circumstances people give.
- A quoted-figures audit. Every rate, fee, limit and eligibility rule the engines attribute to you, set against your current terms, with stale figures ranked by the risk they pose to customers.
- Dated product fact pages. Rates, fees, eligibility and limits in plain text with the date each was last checked, your legal entity and firm reference or CRD number, and structured data for the firm and its products. We also check that AI crawlers can reach those pages.
- A claims register signed off by compliance. Each claim and figure we propose, with its source document, the product owner who confirmed it, and the compliance approver and date.
- A source and directory alignment plan. Correction requests to the publisher and comparison pages engines cite, where they accept them, complete unbiased.co.uk and VouchedFor profiles for your advisers, and register entries that match your site.
- A fact-correction log. Each wrong figure, withdrawn product or confused regulatory detail traced to the page it came from, with the correction requested and its status.
Your first 90 days
The sequence follows our method: map, measure, move, prove.
Weeks 1 to 2: map and measure.
- We agree the prompt map with marketing, product owners and compliance, including the trust prompts about your authorisation.
- The baseline runs on ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode, recording every figure quoted about you.
- The AI visibility audit ranks misquoted figures, register mismatches and technical blockers, such as terms locked in PDFs or calculators.
Weeks 3 to 6: move on the riskiest errors.
- We agree the review route with compliance, and the first dated product pages are live by the end of month 1.
- Corrections are requested for stale figures and withdrawn products that could mislead a customer, starting with the most widely cited.
- Adviser directory profiles and register details are aligned with your site.
Weeks 7 to 12: move and prove.
- Fact pages extend to further products at your plan's pace, with a monthly figure check so every dated page stays current.
- We approach the publishers and guides engines cite for your products, with compliance agreeing each approach first.
- At the month 3 checkpoint we report movement in answer share on target questions against the baseline, and quote the first earned citations.
By month 6, answer share on your core products is reported engine by engine against the providers you named. These are checkpoints, not promises about applications, sales or returns, and we give no financial advice.
What you see each month
The live dashboard shows what each engine says for each prompt, who it names, which figures it quotes and which pages it cites, so a product owner can see what is quoted after a rate change. The monthly report adds answer share by product line against the providers you chose, the out-of-date figures still in circulation, the claims register and correction log, and next month's plan. Our guide to getting cited by Perplexity shows how one live-search engine picks its sources.
Illustrative example, not client data:
| Question | Engine | Who is named today | Sources cited | What we do next |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| best easy access savings account with no withdrawal limits | ChatGPT | Rival A, Rival B, Your firm (old rate) | MoneySavingExpert, a comparison table | Publish a dated rate page; request a table update |
| is Your firm regulated | Gemini | Your firm, with no register entry found | A forum thread | State the legal entity and FCA firm reference number on the site |
| fiduciary planner near Denver for retirement income | Google AI Overviews | Rival B | NerdWallet, Forbes Advisor, FINRA BrokerCheck | Match BrokerCheck details to the site; publish adviser pages |
What we need from you
- Your compliance or financial promotions team as approver, signing off every page, profile update and claim, with product owners confirming each figure before it goes to review.
- Access to your CMS, Google Search Console, analytics, adviser directory and review accounts, and your current rate and fee sheets.
- Your priorities: the products and customer groups you want to grow, the markets you serve and the providers you lose customers to.
- Regulatory details: legal entity names, trading names and register numbers for every regulated entity, so pages and profiles match the register.
- Approvals within a few working days, with a quicker route for urgent corrections, because a wrong rate left live keeps being quoted.
Financial promotion rules and AI answers
The material that shapes AI answers about you, from product pages to directory copy, is your marketing, and in financial services that means it is regulated. We write within the rules and plan around your review process.
In the UK, the FCA requires communications and financial promotions to be fair, clear and not misleading, and words such as “guaranteed”, “protected” or “secure” should only be used where they are accurate and properly explained. In the US, the SEC's marketing rule allows investment advisers to use testimonials, endorsements and third-party ratings only when disclosure and other conditions are met, and broker-dealers work within FINRA's communications rules.
You cannot control an engine's wording, but you can control the material it draws on. We bring the same discipline to other regulated sectors, including healthcare providers.
Questions
Will AI engines quote our rates and fees?
They often try, and that is where errors creep in: an old rate from a comparison table, a fee that has since changed, or a product you have withdrawn. We make your current terms clear and dated on your own pages and on the sources engines read, and we flag answers that quote figures you no longer offer.
How does compliance fit into the work?
Your compliance team approves every page, profile update and piece of copy before it is published, and we build that review time into the plan. We keep a source for each claim so reviewers can check it, and we avoid words such as 'guaranteed' or 'risk-free' unless they are accurate and approved.
Do you work with both UK and US firms?
Yes, with a separate prompt map for each market. MoneySavingExpert, unbiased.co.uk, VouchedFor and the FCA register are typical UK sources, while NerdWallet, Investopedia, Forbes Advisor and FINRA BrokerCheck are typical in the US. The promotion rules differ as well, and we write to the rules of each market you serve.
Do you give financial advice to our customers?
No. We do not give investment or financial advice to anyone. Our work is making sure AI engines describe your firm, products and authorisation accurately, using information your compliance team has approved.
