10 best Perplexity rank trackers in 2026, compared

The Rank Master editorial team

The best Perplexity rank tracker for a team that wants to see where Perplexity names its brand, and to get the fixes written, is Cituna: it checks Perplexity and six other AI engines every day, records which brands each one names and which pages it cites, and writes the fix for each gap, from $39 a month. If you only need monitoring, the next picks are Rankscale (more than 17 engines on credits, from $17 a month billed yearly), Ahrefs Brand Radar (custom prompts from $50 a month), SE Visible (from $99 a month) and Otterly.AI (from $29 a month). Ten tools qualified, and each is described from its vendor's own pages with the date its price was read.

To have a team get your product found in Google and recommended by the seven AI engines buyers now ask first, book a 30-minute call.

How we chose these 10

The minimum bar is simple and checkable: the vendor's own pages list Perplexity among the engines the tool tracks, on a plan you can buy or request. We applied it to ten AI visibility tools with dated, sourced records on file: Ahrefs Brand Radar, AthenaHQ, Cituna, Otterly.AI, Peec AI, Profound, Rankscale, Scrunch, SE Visible and the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit. All ten met it, so the title says ten. This is not every tool that tracks Perplexity; it is the ten read for this guide.

Cituna is first because it is our top pick for the buyer this guide is written for: a team that wants Perplexity checked daily alongside the other major engines, at a flat published monthly price, with the fix for each gap written. The other nine are ordered by four checks, in this order of weight:

  1. Perplexity without a catch. Tools that list Perplexity on a plan you can buy outright come first. A tool that sells it only as a paid add-on (Peec AI) or on a plan priced by quote (Profound) comes last, add-on before quote.
  2. A published check frequency. Daily, or a schedule you set, counts. AthenaHQ and Scrunch publish none, so they follow the tools that do.
  3. Engines listed. The number of AI engines the vendor lists for the plan we price, from its own pages. Rankscale states its count for the product as a whole.
  4. Entry price as the tiebreaker. The lower published monthly price goes first.

Every fact comes from the vendor's own pages. Prices, limits and trials are as recorded on 17 October 2026 (Cituna, Peec AI and Rankscale) and 24 September 2026 (the other seven), and descriptions were read between 22 September and 17 October 2026. Prices are in US dollars as published, and they change, so confirm the plan on the vendor's page before you buy. The page uses no star ratings or review scores. To choose which buyer questions to track in any of them, start from how to measure brand visibility in ChatGPT and AI answers; the same prompts work for Perplexity.

The 10 side by side

"Not published" means the vendor's pages do not say.

Picks by need

Each pick rests on a fact from the vendor's own pages.

  • Daily Perplexity checks with the fixes written: Cituna, from $39 a month, covers 10 buyer prompts on seven engines and turns each gap into a written fix.
  • Many engines, with cost set by credits: Rankscale lists more than 17 engines and charges 0.25 credits for a Perplexity check. Essentials is $17 a month billed yearly only.
  • A small prompt set for a small team: Otterly.AI Lite tracks 15 prompts daily from $29 a month ($25 billed annually).
  • A per-check budget, or an Ahrefs account already: Ahrefs Brand Radar sells custom prompts from $50 a month for 2,500 checks.
  • Several client brands: SE Visible Basic includes 3 projects at $99 a month, and Rankscale adds white-label dashboards on Growth at $385 a month.
  • An existing Semrush account: the AI Visibility Toolkit is $99 a month for 25 tracked prompts.
  • Trying before paying: AthenaHQ's Essential plan gives $25 of free credit; SE Visible offers 10 days, and Rankscale and Scrunch each offer 7.
  • A large brand buying by quote: Profound Enterprise lists up to 9 engines, and Scrunch and AthenaHQ list Enterprise as custom.

The 10 tools

1. Cituna

Cituna is an AI visibility platform that measures and then does the work that follows. Every day it asks seven engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Grok, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode) the questions buyers ask about a market, and records which brands each one names and which pages it cites, so the Perplexity answer for your category sits beside the other six. For each gap it writes the fix, such as schema, FAQ markup, llms.txt files and articles, ranks the gaps by impact and effort, and can publish to WordPress, Shopify or Sanity, to a GitHub repository as Markdown, or to any other CMS by signed webhook. It also turns the sites the engines cite into an outreach plan with a pitch for each site, and joins the results to Google Search Console data on every plan. It leads this list as the top pick because Perplexity is one of seven engines it checks daily on every plan, at a flat published monthly price.

Best for: teams that want the gaps fixed and not only reported, and agencies tracking up to 10 client brands on one plan.

What it costs (read 17 October 2026): Starter is $39 a month, billed monthly, for 1 brand and 10 buyer prompts checked daily on all seven engines, with fixes written on request, 30 AI-written articles a month, an outreach plan for cited sites and read-only API and MCP access. Pro is $119 a month for 3 brands and 30 buyer prompts, with alerts, auto-generated fixes, competitor tracking and API and MCP write actions. Max is $399 a month for 10 brands and 90 buyer prompts. A 3-day free trial needs a card, covers 5 buyer prompts with the top 3 tracked daily, and becomes Starter at $39 a month unless cancelled.

Where it falls short: there is no free plan, and the trial needs a card. It does not track Microsoft Copilot. Starter covers 10 buyer prompts for one brand, and competitor tracking is listed from Pro. Cancelling stops renewal but does not refund a partial month.

2. Rankscale

Rankscale monitors how brands appear across more than 17 AI engines, including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, Grok, DeepSeek, Mistral, Copilot and Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode. Usage is paid for in credits, and you choose how often each prompt runs, from hourly to monthly. It adds citation, sentiment and competitor analysis, with query fan-out on every plan, plus page audits of any URL and an MCP server on every plan.

Best for: tracking many client brands, with white-label dashboards and an agency programme; tracking engines many tools skip, such as DeepSeek, Mistral and Grok; and controlling cost by choosing the engines and check frequency for each prompt.

What it costs (read 17 October 2026): Essentials is $17 a month, billed yearly only ($204 a year), with 120 credits a month, 2 brand dashboards and 10 page audits a month. Pro is $99 a month billed monthly or $84 a month billed yearly, with 1,200 credits a month (up to 4,800 AI answers), 10 brand dashboards, 50 page audits and a 7-day free trial. Growth is $385 a month ($327 billed yearly) for 5,500 credits and white-label dashboards. Unused credits roll over on Pro and above.

Where it falls short: credits make costs harder to predict. A Perplexity check costs 0.25 credits, the same as ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Mode, while a Claude check uses 2 credits and DeepSeek 1. Essentials is yearly only, with no credit rollover and only 2 brand dashboards. The REST API starts on Pro+ ($229 a month billed monthly) and white-label dashboards on Growth ($385 a month).

3. Ahrefs Brand Radar

Brand Radar is Ahrefs' tool for measuring how often brands are mentioned and cited in AI answers. Its AI Visibility Index looks up any brand across a database of search-backed prompts that Ahrefs runs through ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, AI Overviews and AI Mode, with no setup. Custom Prompts tracks the questions you choose, daily, weekly or monthly per platform, and includes Claude.

Best for: benchmarking an established brand's AI share of voice against competitors without setting up prompts, and tracking a set of buyer questions across several AI platforms on a per-check budget.

What it costs (read 24 September 2026): Custom Prompts Basic is $50 a month for 2,500 checks (for example, 80 prompts daily on one platform), with overage at $0.02 a check. The Scale package is $250 a month for 25,000 checks. The Brand Radar AI plan with the AI Visibility Index is from $199 a month and adds 83 tracked prompts a day on all platforms, Claude included.

Where it falls short: Ahrefs lists no free trial; its pricing FAQ points to Ahrefs Free, which covers Site Explorer and Site Audit only. Ahrefs says the Index may have limited coverage for brands with little or no search volume. Custom prompts are billed per check, and each Claude update uses 8 checks. The Index's question sets are re-tested monthly on a 90-day reporting window, so it is not a daily feed.

4. SE Visible

SE Visible is SE Ranking's AI visibility tool for brands and agencies. It tracks prompts daily on ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Mode and AI Overviews, recording brand mentions, sentiment, competitors and the domains and URLs cited. It collects answers through each platform's own interface rather than its API. Its AI Sources view groups the most-cited domains by category, such as media, blogs and forums.

Best for: marketing and PR teams tracking how AI answers describe a brand, agencies managing several client brands, and anyone looking for the publications and forums AI engines cite, for outreach.

What it costs (read 24 September 2026): Basic is $99 a month billed monthly or $79 a month billed annually, with 200 prompts (about 30,000 AI answers analysed a month) and 3 projects. Plus is $355 a month ($284 billed annually) for 1,000 prompts and 10 projects, and is sold through a demo. A custom package is by quote. There is a 10-day free trial, and every plan has unlimited users.

Where it falls short: there is no free plan. Country tracking covers the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain, in five languages. Claude, query fan-out analysis and local AI visibility are listed as coming soon.

5. Otterly.AI

Otterly.AI monitors how brands and websites appear in AI search. It runs your prompts daily on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, with Google AI Mode, Gemini and Claude as paid add-ons, and reports brand mentions, website citations and a Brand Visibility Index. It also audits your URLs for generative engine optimisation and includes a prompt research tool.

Best for: a small team tracking a handful of prompts, agencies reporting AI search visibility for several clients from separate workspaces, and anyone checking which websites AI engines cite for their topics.

What it costs (read 24 September 2026): Lite is $29 a month billed monthly or $25 a month billed annually, with 15 prompts, 4 engines, daily tracking, unlimited team members, 1 workspace and 3 recommendations a week. Standard is $189 a month ($160 billed annually) for 100 prompts, API and MCP access and unlimited workspaces. Google AI Mode or Gemini add from $9 a month and Claude from $29 a month at Lite prices. A free trial is offered, and its length is not stated on the pricing page.

Where it falls short: there is no free plan, and the entry plan tracks 15 prompts. Google AI Mode, Gemini and Claude cost extra on every plan. API, MCP and Agent Analytics start on Standard ($189 a month billed monthly).

6. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit

The AI Visibility Toolkit is Semrush's toolkit for measuring how brands appear in AI-generated answers. The pricing page lists ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity. It scores a brand's AI visibility against its competitors, tracks chosen prompts daily, researches prompts and topics, reports on sentiment and share of voice, and audits whether AI crawlers can read a site. Semrush One plans bundle it with the SEO toolkit.

Best for: teams adding AI visibility data to a Semrush account already used for SEO, benchmarking share of voice against competitors, and finding prompts and topics to target.

What it costs (read 24 September 2026): the toolkit is $99 a month, with 25 tracked prompts, 1 domain for Brand Performance reports, 300 daily queries in AI Analysis reports and AI search checks in Site Audit for up to 100 pages. Semrush One Starter, which bundles SEO and AI visibility, is $199 a month billed monthly or $165.17 a month billed annually, with 50 prompts tracked daily.

Where it falls short: Semrush says the toolkit has no free trial and needs a paid subscription. Fifty more prompts cost $60 a month, and each extra domain for Brand Performance costs $99 a month. Each user needs their own toolkit licence. Brand Performance reports update weekly, not daily.

7. AthenaHQ

AthenaHQ tracks how a brand appears in AI search and suggests what to change. Starter covers ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, Grok, DeepSeek, Meta AI and Mistral, and usage is measured in credits, where one credit is one AI response. It adds prompt and response analysis with source and competitor insights, content recommendations, a content optimisation agent, and integrations with Google Analytics and Search Console.

Best for: teams that want to try AI visibility tracking on a free plan before paying, want tracking and content recommendations in one tool, or need a wide set of models, including Grok, DeepSeek and Meta AI.

What it costs (read 24 September 2026): the Essential plan is free, with $25 of free credit (300 credits) on ChatGPT, Perplexity, AI Overviews, Gemini and Copilot; the page does not say whether the credits renew. Starter is $295 a month billed monthly or $245 a month billed annually, with 3,600 credits a month, 11 AI models and CSV export. Enterprise is custom.

Where it falls short: the only paid self-serve plan costs $295 a month ($245 billed annually). API access and extra credits are paid add-ons on Starter, priced on request, and tracking in multiple regions and languages is an Enterprise feature. AthenaHQ does not publish how often prompts are checked.

8. Scrunch

Scrunch monitors how a brand shows up in AI search, tracking prompts, citations, competitors and sentiment, and audits websites for how AI agents read them. Its Core plan covers ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Copilot. Its Enterprise plan adds the Agent Experience Platform, which serves AI agents an optimised version of a site without changing what people see. Scrunch's about page says it was acquired by Sitecore in 2026 and continues to operate as a standalone platform.

Best for: tracking AI visibility across several teams in a mid-size or enterprise brand, controlling what AI agents read on a site without changing the pages people see, and tracking AI visibility for agency clients.

What it costs (read 24 September 2026): Core is $250 a month, with 125 unique prompts, 4 AI platforms, 5 site audits a month, 1 brand workspace, 5 users and 5 competitors. Agency Core is $500 a month, and Enterprise and Agency Enterprise are custom. A 7-day free trial of Core becomes a paid plan unless cancelled.

Where it falls short: there is no free plan. Core covers four AI platforms, one country, one language and five competitors, and API, MCP and Looker Studio access, SAML SSO and the Agent Experience Platform are Enterprise-only. Scrunch does not publish how often prompts are checked.

9. Peec AI

Peec AI tracks how brands appear in AI search, measuring visibility, position and sentiment across models such as ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and AI Overviews, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot. Plans are priced by the number of prompts tracked daily, and every plan includes unlimited users. It analyses the sources AI engines cite, suggests prompts and actions, and reports on AI crawler visits and referrals. Self-serve plans track 3 models of your choice from ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, Copilot, Gemini and Naver AI, and can add more, Perplexity included, as paid add-ons.

Peec's plan table lists Perplexity only under Enterprise, while its add-on panel lists it among the models a self-serve plan can add. This page follows the add-on panel, so confirm that Perplexity is on your plan before you buy.

Best for: an SEO or content team starting to track AI search visibility, teams looking for the sources AI answers cite when they name competitors but not you, and teams sharing the data widely, since every plan has unlimited users.

What it costs (read 17 October 2026): Starter is $95 a month billed monthly or $80 a month billed annually, with 50 prompts, 3 models, daily tracking, 1 project and unlimited users. Pro is $245 a month ($205 billed annually) for 150 prompts, and Advanced is $495 a month ($420 billed annually) for 350 prompts. An additional model costs $35, $85 or $165 a month billed monthly on Starter, Pro or Advanced. A free trial is offered, and its length is not stated on the pricing page.

Where it falls short: there is no free plan, and the entry plan tracks 50 prompts on 3 models. Each extra model costs extra on every self-serve plan. API access and SSO are Enterprise-only, and Claude, Grok, DeepSeek and Mistral are tracked only on the custom-priced Enterprise plan.

10. Profound

Profound is an AI marketing platform built around AI search. Its Answer Engine Insights tracks how a brand and its competitors appear in answers from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews and other engines, and Prompt Volumes estimates what people ask AI assistants. An agent called AI Marketer uses that data to research, write and report, and Agent Analytics tracks traffic from AI sources. Enterprise lists up to 9 engines, Perplexity among them.

Best for: a large brand that wants AI visibility tracking and content agents on one platform, agencies auditing AI visibility for prospects and clients, and anyone who wants to see which sources AI engines cite across a category.

What it costs (read 24 September 2026): Profound publishes no price for brands beyond the trial. Enterprise is custom. The 7-day free trial runs 50 prompts daily on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, with limited AI Marketer credits, unlimited seats, and no history, exports or API. Agency Growth does not publish a base price; client workspaces are $399 a month each, with 100 prompts daily and 400 agent credits a month. Agency Enterprise is custom.

Where it falls short: there is no self-serve plan for brands, so after the trial Enterprise is priced by quote. The trial uses a recommended prompt set that cannot be customised and covers three engines, none of them Perplexity. Agents run on credits, and more than the allotment needs an Enterprise package.

What to do next

Shortlist two or three tools from the table, open each vendor's pricing page to confirm the plan that includes Perplexity, and run the same buyer questions through them for a month before committing. A tracker tells you where Perplexity names you and where it does not; what changes the answer is the page and source work that follows, covered in how to get cited by Perplexity and how to get your SaaS product recommended by AI engines.

If you would rather have a team do that work, book a 30-minute call: The Rank Master gets B2B SaaS companies found in Google and recommended by the seven AI engines buyers now ask first, with published pricing, open measurement across every engine, and no annual lock-in.

Questions buyers ask

What is the best Perplexity rank tracker?

For a team that wants daily Perplexity checks next to six other engines and the fix for each gap written, Cituna, from $39 a month. For monitoring across more than 17 engines with cost set by credits, Rankscale; for a per-check budget, Ahrefs Brand Radar from $50 a month; for a small prompt set, Otterly.AI from $29 a month. The table above sets out all ten on price, engines and check frequency.

Is there a tool to track Perplexity citations?

Yes. Cituna records which pages each of its seven engines cites, and Ahrefs Brand Radar reports mentions and citations. SE Visible records the domains and URLs cited and groups them by category, Otterly.AI reports website citations, Peec AI analyses the domains and URLs AI engines cite, and Rankscale includes citation analysis.

Is there a free Perplexity rank tracker?

AthenaHQ's Essential plan is free and includes $25 of credit on five engines, Perplexity among them; its page does not say whether the credit renews. None of the other nine has a free plan. Trials are the alternative: Rankscale and Scrunch offer 7 days, SE Visible 10 days and Cituna 3 days with a card required, while Otterly.AI and Peec AI offer a free trial without stating its length. Profound's 7-day trial does not include Perplexity.

How much does a Perplexity rank tracker cost?

Published entry prices on this page run from $17 a month for Rankscale Essentials (billed yearly only) and $29 a month for Otterly.AI Lite, through $39 for Cituna Starter, $50 for Ahrefs custom prompts, $95 for Peec AI Starter and $99 for SE Visible Basic and the Semrush toolkit, to $250 for Scrunch Core and $295 for AthenaHQ Starter. Profound publishes no price for brands. The price rises with the number of prompts, the engines you add and the number of brands or projects.
